課程概述 |
Course Description
以培養專業中英會議口譯員為目標的碩士班課程，運用真實會議材料，訓練學生進一步加強同時聽說與氣力分配協調技巧，純熟運用積極聆聽、邏輯分析、善用記憶等分項技巧完成同步口譯英進中的任務，並鍛練主動求知、解決問題、尋找資源的能力。修畢本課程後，學生將精通如何獨立準備市場常見主題專題演講的口譯工作，嫻熟運用各種技巧應對理解或產出方面的挑戰，正確且流利地完成同步口譯工作。學生也將有機會與專業口譯員及口譯客戶實際接觸，建立專業口譯服務的策略性思維與職業倫理。

Course Objectives
1. Master the skills of coordinating different efforts needed to provide fluent and accurate simultaneous interpreting from English to Chinese
2. Acquire solid understanding of popular speech topics and subjects in conferences today
3. Develop survival strategies for simultaneous interpreting
4. Identify personal strengths and weaknesses in simultaneous interpreting from English into Chinese and achieve concrete improvement

課程要求 |
Requirements:
Loads of intentional practice is key to mastering simultaneous interpreting skills. Other than exercises in class, students are expected to practice on their own and with their fellow classmates outside of class. They will be asked to present the result of their own practice.
Grading:
In-class participation and performance: 50%
Homework: 30%
Mid-term exam: 20%
